An art fee that'll make you blush Read Cindy Chang's review of Johnny Naked's solo show at Gallery 825 from the Los Angeles Times Calendar Section, November 2, 2006.
The Ever-Changing Naked Picture Project is an audience participation art project spanning several months, beginning in January 2006 and ending in November of the same year.
The project is being presented at Gallery 825, located at 825 N. La Cienega Ave. in Los Angeles and it is the creative brainchild of the artist Johnny Naked.
Here is a picture of the installation currently on display, showing the "Invitation" on the left, which invites viewers to agree to pose for a nude portrait in the Gallery 825 space in exchange for possession of the print framed on the right.
Upon posing for the project, the subject's portrait will replace the one currently on display, which will then be given to them as "payment" for their participation. This process will continue for several months until the end of October, when all the images created throughout the life span of the project will be displayed together in a final show.
The following is the entire text from the Invitation:

All that is asked of you in return for the transfer of ownership of said artwork is for you to pose for a nude photograph within this gallery space to replace the one you are taking possession of, including signing an appropriate standard photographic art release form to allow its exhibition and future sale.
You may pose however you wish: curled up in a ball, face down on the floor, just standing there, hiding your face, not hiding your face, etc., etc. The only requirement for the pose is that you do so completely nude. Creativity is encouraged as your participation in this project is a valuable contribution to the overall body of work.
Within three days after posing, you will be given the print currently exhibited when your picture was taken, as well as a copy of your own portrait. Your photo will hang until someone else exchanges their services as a model for it in the same way you have done for the piece you are acquiring.
